This isn’t your average Black History event; it’s a high-energy celebration of the women who built the world and the mothers who keep us going today.
The event, called “MOCA Black History Night,” brings together women from all over the world to share stories and poems about powerful black men and women in history. The event is inspired by the new national day, Mothers of Civilization Day, which has long been a day to honor Black Women, yet many still do not know about it.
In the past, they’ve hosted famous historians like Anthony Browder and impactful men and women in the community. Most recently, Chairman Fred Hampton, Jr. and Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad (son of Elijah Muhammad) joined the event to give a huge “thank you” to their mothers, showing the world that even the strongest leaders are who they are because of the women who raised them. Dr. Iman Muhammad Ali, who honored Emmit Till’s mother, was also a previous guest.
New Self-Help Book “Blame It on the Feel of Pain” About Detangling From Past Pain
Get ready for a transformational journey toward inner peace as indie author Max W. Miller’s new self-help release, Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, inspires readers in a witty, down-to-earth book. Truth and compassion are foretold, using poetic frames called ‘The Wises,’ and the help of opinionated little emojis bringing laughter and thought-provoking conclusions throughout.
The author encourages her readers, whom she also calls partners, to stop wrestling with the hard knocks of the past. She expresses how voluntarily walking back into time precedes trauma healing. Confronting lingering pains is a step toward strength and hope for the future. ‘Blame It’ delves into the author’s life experiences, bringing to life the importance of using Full Circle Moments to find resolutions.
Throughout Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, the reader grows to understand through a unique interpretation that what we are destined to become grows out of the years we’ve already traveled. Further, our future hinges on how we address the pains of the past. Other expressions focus on how desires in the present are carved out of having a clear vision that old, lingering strongholds must be defeated. A history of suffering is a prerequisite for becoming fed up enough to demand enjoyment now!

Black History Night
Continues Below...
“As a Black woman and mother, I think we should do more to show honor and respect to ourselves. We nurture everyone else and often neglect our own needs,” says Dr. Audrey Muhammad, who is the founder of Mothers of Civilization Day. “I know that learning positive things about your history can have a profound impact on a person. We want to leave feeling like a queen who knows her worth.”
Dr. Audrey Muhammad and her daughter, Hasana, are not strangers to being of service to the community. Dr. Muhammed is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and her daughter, Hasana, is an HBCU graduate of North Carolina A&T University.
The night features two main parts:
1. The Storytelling: History Stories and Rhymes of the Times – It’s a mix of history and storytelling via rhymes from blacknurseryrhymes.com and other uplifting stories of Black inventors and women.
2. The Wind-Down: Meditation for Mothers – To end the night, there will be a special session to help moms relax and de-stress.
