FOUNDER OF CLOSED DOWN 25-YEAR OLD BLACK-OWNED GIFT SHOP & BOOKSTORE REOPENS ONLINE

What began as a love of collecting unique items that speak to the African American spirit and experience, now serves as a way for Mary Wilson, an African American entrepreneur, to share her passion with others. It was 25 years ago when she established Heritage House in Charlotte, N.C., originally coined as an African accessory shop.

It was truly a family affair from building counters, installing display fixtures, decorating, and even store management. The shop specialized in art, books, cards, gifts, home décor, and gifts that reflected the African American tradition of faith, family, fitness, and fun. Five years later, Mary made the difficult decision to close the doors of her brick and mortar shop as she transitioned to a position as a corporate attorney. And while Charlotte locals could still find some of her items at The Gallery, a shop within her home church, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, it wasn’t quite the same for Mary.

ATLANTA ATTORNEY SPREADS JOY DURING THE PANDEMIC WITH NEW KARAOKE GAME, BUT FOR THE “KULTURE”

Some games and activities are staples at large gatherings and family functions. Whether you are a professional singer or a professional shower singer, karaoke brings out the best (or worst) vocals around. Whether you are an outspoken extravert or a more reserved wallflower, once you get behind that mic, everyone is equal. Although many karaoke songs are some of the most popular songs of the late 80s and early 90s, one new game merges karaoke, hip hop and R&B and some unforgettable past time memories. Kulture Karaoke lets you set the song theme while reliving throwback memories to some of the most popular songs from “the culture!”

As we experience another new year, the pandemic shows no signs of clearing up. Many outdoor activities are still canceled, and several states have mandated curfews.

With most people still stuck at home, Kulture Karaoke lets them keep the party safe, indoors and COVID-free. As an attorney, Dae does not often get to explore her creativity while representing clients. Kulture Karaoke provided a unique opportunity to step outside of her comfort zone, into the gaming world.

BLACK-OWNED CREDIT CARD APP LAUNCHED TO HELP YOU IMPROVE AND MANAGE YOUR CREDIT SCORE

Timothy Griggs with 30+ years of experience in the mortgage industry has designed and launched an app called The Good Steward Financial System to help users manage their credit cards all in one place. Instead of having to login into multiple apps and websites to decide which credit card is best to use for a transaction, this mobile app consolidates all of the important information into one interface.

This app launch is just in time because many credit card companies are having a hard time managing the influx of traffic to their call centers and their mobile apps. This mobile app connects you directly with the backend of your credit card processing companies through an API and avoids the slow information acquisition that plagues the credit card apps daily.

By the year 2023, revolving credit card debt will expand by another $100 billion from $1.08 trillion. Now is the time to monitor and be strategic about your revolving credit, and this mobile credit card app will help you do just that.
