BLACK HEALTH EXECUTIVE'S CURRICULUM TO END MEDICAL APARTHEID TO BE TAUGHT IN HOSPITALS WORLDWIDE

Nationwide -- After viewing the viral video of Black doctor Susan Moore alleging poor and racist treatment from hospital staff before she died of COVID in December 2020, Aubynette Rolle, an internationally-recognized nurse who is also a medical attorney, says now more than ever, there must be a change in the way healthcare is delivered.

“I was heartbroken to see the videos Dr. Moore recorded before her death and she is not the only one who has experienced or has recordings or allegations out there,” said Rolle. “I have read and seen footage so many times about Black women in the USA dying giving birth and their husbands and relatives are left with questions. In the majority of Black nations, it isn’t quite the case as infants and mothers do receive care generally from people who look like them. Regardless of what title you hold, at the end of the day, we are all mortal and we will need medical assistance. I remind my colleagues in healthcare to remember that they can go from being the doctor or nurse to being the patient in an instant and they don’t know who may end up caring for them, especially if they are unable to speak. That is why it is so important for me to continue doing the R.I.C.H. experience training and establish the need for a culture of care across the board.”

Iconic Singer Jody Watley Becomes National Museum of African American Music First Ever Ambassador

March 3, 2021 - Jody Watley, the Grammy award winner trendsetting icon in music, video, fashion and style has been appointed to be National Museum of African American Music’s first ever membership ambassador for the museum.

Watley is one of the architects of 21st century pop. From her groundbreaking marriage of rap & R&B (1987’s “Friends,” a collaboration with hip-hop legends Eric B. & Rakim) to her vision-forward marriage of high fashion, street fashion and music in the ‘80s (long before it became the norm), to her fusion of jazz and underground club culture with keen pop instincts, and the ease with which she crossed and still crosses genre, she forged the template that is now everybody’s playbook.

“We are excited to name Jody Watley as our membership ambassador," Kara Duke, Development and Membership Manager at NMAAM said in a statement on March 1, 2021.  "Black Music finally has a home and with your support, we can make sure it will be here to inspire visitors for years to come," says Duke."

Located in downtown Nashville, the museum tells the story of America’s music and the people that made it. With artifacts from some of your favorite artists and interactive galleries, it is an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.

Visitors can celebrate black music 365 days a year by purchasing a museum membership.

Derrick’s clients include but are not limited to Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, Rickey Smiley Foundation, Chef G, Garvin Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, Colon Cancer Foundation, and many others. NEW PLAN TO FUND MORE NON-PROFITS AND FOR-PROFITS IN BLACK COMMUNITIES

They are many great non-profits, making great strides in the Black community in the areas of health, education, equal rights, the arts, and many more. However, many of them don’t have the funding to expand and grow their organizations. "This is because they have to rely on the goodness of people and companies to fund their organizations. This is not the best way to fund our organizations, especially when the economy is doing so badly," says Terrance Amen, founder and CEO of 3UFirst.

Terrance says that his company can solve this problem by offering organizations ownership in the company, donations to their organization, and sponsorship of their events. In return, the organizations that agree to the terms simply have to endorse, promote, and support 3UFirst. He comments, "This is a great way to fund our HBCUs and other organizations putting in the work. Too many times our organizations have to go begging for crumbs and having to reach outside our community, in order to keep their doors open."
