CONCERNED DAD CREATES APP THAT ENABLES STUDENTS TO LIVESTREAM SCHOOL SHOOTINGS TO ALERT THEIR PARENTS FASTER

Meet James A. Samuel, Jr., a father of two, and a fighter pilot turned tech innovator who has developed a cloud-based app called ANJEL Tech that enables students to alert their parents faster in the event of a school shooting. During an emergency, the app discreetly turns any smartphone into a personal body cam that sends out automatic notifications to their loved ones with live video streaming, audio, and the child’s exact GPS location.

School shootings in America occur at a horrific rate, with 27 occurring so far this year! James says that he came up with the idea to create the app to keep his own children safer in America, given the increasing threats they face in society. Now, however, he wants all children to benefit from it as well.

Here’s how it works:

With a push of a button, the discrete application allows users (students, etc.) to live stream any incident and provide real-time video and audio footage to their loved ones. The app also sends 3 different notifications (text, email, and in-app notifications) to their loved ones alerting them to the video feed. It also sends location updates every 10 seconds to their loved ones viewing their live stream, so they know precisely where their child/student is located and/or moving. As the parents view the live stream, they are also provided personalized directions to help them navigate to their children, and ANJEL Tech securely stores this audio, video, and location information in the cloud for future use and/or downloading.

Yes, Yes, Sad Days in America and More Difficult Deadly Days Yet to Come

By Vietnam Era Veteran

The United States Constitution was written after the American Revolutionary War of Independence from Great Britain (April 19, 1775 – September 3, 1783). In 1787, generally and collectively speaking, authors of the United States Constitution were James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay,  Gouverneur Morris, William Samuel Johnson, James Wilson and Rufus King, et al.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, September 25, 1789: Ratified December 15, 1791 protects the individual right to possess, keep and bear arms.  Bill of Rights 1791:  “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Initially, Amendment II was crafted to allow American citizens to own and bear arms for the sole purpose of defending themselves against the British army if there was a return to continue the war or an invasion from other countries. However, sadly and more deadly today in modern times, many U. S. citizens and political leaders believe that having the right to own and use a military war weapon is protected by their yearly selfish and deliberate misinterpretation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

BLACK WOMAN RELEASES WORKBOOK, CARD DECK, AND MORE FOR CHILDFREE AND CHILDLESS COMMUNITY

Nationwide  Meet Jerra Latrice Mitchell, a childfree woman and the founder of Unfertilized Eggs™, whose mission is to empower childfree women to live boldly and unapologetically and to empathize with childless women. (Childfree refers to those who choose not to have children, while childless describes women who do not have children by circumstance.) They also aim to confront society's expectations of motherhood and educate others about fibroids.

At age 15, Jerra was adamant about not having children (no matter how many people tried to convince her otherwise). Then, at age 33, she was diagnosed with fibroids - which ultimately led to her infertility. Jerra understands firsthand the criticism of not wanting children and the complications of fibroids.

CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE NEW YORK ARTIST WORKING TO
BRING FIBER ART TO THE SOUTH

Renée Fleuranges-Valdes, is Founder and CEO of Quilted Artistry by Renee, a Black-owned contemporary fiber art business that is taking Charleston, South Carolina by storm. The first quarter of 2022 has seen Quilted Artistry by Renee featured in a solo show at the Park Circle Gallery in North Charleston; as the monthly artist feature in the February issue of Charleston Magazine; in an online magazine South Carolina Voyager; and in Griots: Cotton, Indigo & Clay, an exhibit at City Gallery at Waterfront Park by approximately 40 African American female artists honoring land ownership in Black America. Renée then kicked off April 2022, with a local small business spotlight in the Charleston City Paper; followed by a Lowcountry Live Spotlight on ABC News 4 Charleston.

This latest exposure comes as Renée Fleuranges-Valdes moves south from her hometown of Mt. Vernon, NY to North Charleston, SC, where she is working to bring greater exposure to fiber art as a fine art medium in itself, but also in a broader sense as she educates the market on the use of the medium in home and office decor. “Folks are constantly asking how to use my fiber art in their home. My goal is to help clients build art collections that they are proud to hang in their personal spaces, that show their own sense of style and brings joy to the room. I look forward to building relationships with curators, gallerists, art collectors, interior designers, and home stagers as we work together to educate their clients and the southern market," says Renée.

Beyond Humanities “Tipping Point”
Photo By Salman Hossain Saif On Unsplash

By JV Howard

Let us cut to the chase and confess the obvious…we as a country are long pass the tipping point. “The Tipping” point as articulated by Malcom Gladwell defines a tipping point as the moment of critical mass, the threshold, and the boiling point.

As a reference we have certainty reached a critical mass in the number of people being killed by guns and by police officers with guns, cross incompressible thresholds in the number of children massacred by assault weapons and reached calorific boiling points with sorry a... police officers and politicians.

Politicians who rallied to stand up for Ukraine but laid down when called to protect our children. We are talking policemen who shoot when they should not (in the back, at a traffic stop, sleeping at home, with hands up, and fail to shoot when they should (standing down/ waiting while kids are murdered, when a white racist kills ten black people and walks out with hands up; if this would have been a person of any other color it would have unbelievable massacre. We are talking police officer who repeatedly violates the oath to serve and protect- a boiling point.  In the animal kingdom a lioness or female elephant will sacrifice their life to protect their young, but mankind has evolved to a pathetic threshold of protecting their blue suits/day job rather than save their children.
