✨Mss. Francois Graces Prestigious EveryBody's
Caribbean Magazine Cover✨

Caribbean online influencer and relationship coach Mss. Francois is beaming with pride after being featured on the cover of a world-renowned Caribbean magazine—established in 1977 and celebrated globally for showcasing icons of the Caribbean diaspora. This cover moment marks a major milestone in her already remarkable career.

A Long-Awaited Recognition

In her own words:

“This is not an ordinary post... This cover means the most. Why? This magazine been around since 1977 and it goes all over the world,” she wrote, reflecting that everyone worth knowing “have been on the front cover or within these pages.”

What made this moment even sweeter? After three years of emailing the editor, Mr. Herman Hall, with no reply, she received a phone call just two weeks ago—he had finally discovered her messages and, impressed by her credentials, offered her the coveted cover space. Upon receiving the news, she admits she “did a dance… in my underwear, while trying to keep calm.”

Celebrating Growth & Gratitude

Mss. Francois used this milestone to reflect on her personal journey: “This continues to be a journey and I can say I’m truly embracing my growth.” Her feature prompted heartfelt thanks to those who support her along the way—especially editor Herman Hall and collaborator Candice Romany‑Trumpet, who helped craft her story:

“Thank you for being that voice through the trees that I can trust... I greatly appreciate all your hours spent with putting words together that make the pages come to life.”

She concluded with a powerful affirmation: “I will continue until all my dreams/goals are a reality.”

Black Farmers Vs. White Supremacists: The Legacy of Stealing Black Farms

Shelton Muhammad, an African American farmer in Southampton County, Virginia, is calling for urgent public support to help protect his family’s farm from what he describes as a longstanding campaign of harassment, sabotage, and economic suppression led by individuals tied to white supremacist ideologies.

For over 15 years, Muhammad and his family have fought to maintain ownership of their small farm against what he says is a coordinated effort involving local agencies, legal entities, and individuals with deep institutional influence. He claims that members of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Farm Service Agency (FSA), local officials, and lawyers have taken strategic actions to economically destabilize his farm in an effort to seize it through legal and financial manipulation.

Generations of Black farmers have had their land stolen or have been forced to sell through underhanded tactics,” Muhammad says. “We are determined not to let history repeat itself.”

Black Mom and Son-Owned
Skincare Brand Bullied and Targeted by Non-Black-Owned
Cosmetics Company

Patrice Chappelle and her 14-year-old son, Bron, the founders of MELANBrand Skin, a Black-owned natural skincare brand for children, are standing their ground after receiving a legally intimidating letter from Milani Cosmetics alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition.

Milani Cosmetics is not a Black-owned brand, but it primarily targets Black women as its customers. The letter they sent ridiculously claims that MELANBrand Skin’s name is “confusingly similar” to Milani’s, suggesting that consumers could be misled.

Patrice comments, “For our brand, which was born from my desire to create safe, natural skincare for melanated children and families, the letter felt like an attack on a dream we’ve built from the ground up.”

When I opened the letter, I was stunned,” she continues. “I had never heard of Milani before, and suddenly they were accusing me of infringing on their trademark. This isn’t a hobby for me—it’s my life’s work. It’s my son’s future. To suggest our name confuses anyone feels not only wrong, but dismissive of the thought and meaning behind MELANBrand Skin.”

🔹 A Champion Rooted in Southeast Queens, New York

Readers of our flagship sister site the Southeast Queens Scoop, will recognize Mezetin from his earlier articles and local advocacy work. In our January 2024 feature, "Get the Scoop on How Quentin Mezetin is Championing Children on the Spectrum", we explored his mission to uplift families often marginalized or misunderstood in conversations around autism—especially within Black and Brown communities.

In April, he followed up with a raw and honest editorial, "Defeating Autism Daily: A Personal Fight for My Child and Others", where he courageously chronicled his own experience as a parent and advocate, highlighting the intersectionality of autism, race, and access to care.
