The African Most Beautiful USA Pageant Showcases Beautiful And Talented Women While Helping To Uplift Africa

The "African Most Beautiful USA," pageant is an event which showcases the beauty, talent, and brilliance of young women of African descent and direct lineage between the ages of 18-28.  The purpose of the pageant is also to raise money for important causes in Africa.  It is organized by the Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF).

Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization based in the United States. The AAF is the brainchild of Nana Obaahemaa Nkrumah Akosua Adasa III, a Ghanian-American, who started the organization with a desire to provide the village of Abofrem, her original hometown located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, as well as the surrounding villages in Ghana and other African countries access to food, employment, education, sanitation, and medical needs.

In the year 2019, the foundation proudly constructed a new school building which encompasses Grades 1-5 to benefit the children in the village so that none would be left behind in gaining vital education.  A medical hospital was constructed within the village in 2021 to be dedicated January 5, 2022.

FILMMAKER TO RELEASE ANIMATED FILM THAT ADDRESSES CHILDHOOD OBESITY AMONG BLACK YOUTH

The Double V campaign, created by the Pittsburgh Courier and supported by the Black press, captured and gave voice to the frustration of African-American soldiers who fought valiantly overseas during World War II, only to return to the same racial restrictions that they left.

While the campaign for democracy remains vital for African-Americans, an equally critical sphere of doom looms over the protesters' descendants and warrants the attention and support of the Black press. This sphere of doom is childhood obesity.

The State of Obesity, a publication by the Robert Woods Foundation, reports that between 2019 and 2020, the childhood obesity rate for Black youth ages 10 through 17 was 28.3%. Studies show that children today may be the first generation of children to have shorter lives than their parents. For Black children, especially those growing up in urban areas served by Black newspapers, the future looks even more bleak, absent immediate intervention. This intervention must take into account how Black children learn and what they enjoy.
