SHATTER THE STEREOTYPES SUMMIT HELPS BLACK MEN CREATE EXTRAORDINARY LIVES

Entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker Coach Michael Taylor has announced he will be hosting the Shatter the Stereotypes Summit, a personal development platform and social movement that was created specifically for Black men. The summit will break down stereotypes while supporting black men in creating extraordinary lives.

Coach Michael Taylor is an irrepressible optimist with a passion for the impossible. He overcame dropping out of high school, divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, depression, and being homeless — living out of his car for two years — to achieve success. He is now the author of nine books focusing on changing the roles of manhood and masculinity. The summit is based on his book Shattering Male Stereotypes – Eradicating the 10 Most Destructive Media Generated Illusions About Black Men.

MARRIED COUPLE, FOUNDERS OF BLACK HOME SHOPPING CHANNEL TO PRODUCE NEW CHANNEL ON AMAZON, ROKU AND APPLE TV

Chris & Roberta Holmes, the founders of The Black Home Shopping Channel streaming on Exposure Network TV, have announced that they are producing a new channel on the network. The Streaming Home Marketplace expands the power of 24/7 stream shopping at affordable rates.

The kickoff for the channel is an international vendor event that provides a platform for entrepreneurs to create infomercials to showcase their products or services worldwide. Content is accessible on Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Android TV, Apple TV along with iOS & Android mobile devices the network's app is currently reaching over 160 million homes in 128 countries.

During the pandemic, Exposure Network TV managed to gain over 800,000 app downloads. The meteoric growth of Exposure Network TV caught the attention of media executives and over the summer Exposure TV Network President, Tam Lawrence was awarded a $2.5 million dollar content merger with HBO.

NON-PROFIT IN MARYLAND OFFERS FREE MEDIA AND ARTS TRAINING FOR PROMISING CREATIVES

Meet Robert Jackson, the founder of B-Roll Media & Arts, a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2012. Via his foundation, Jackson, a 30-year veteran in radio, television, and film production, works with city and county organizations to provide free-of-cost media and arts training and education to underserved students aged 13 through 21, as well as to young people with learning disabilities or Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).

When Lion Darby, a 16-year old junior at Westlake High School in Waldorf, MD, comes from a family that respects and supports the arts and creativity. His parents, Asmaret and Kenji, were delighted when Lion, the oldest of their four children, exhibited a strong artistic streak at an early age.

“He was drawing pictures of squirrels at age 2,” says his mother. As he grew older, she noted, his interest in expressing himself through all the creative forms -- drawing, writing, music, and acting continued to grow.

THIS COUPLE SPENT 60 YEARS DEVELOPING ANIMATED CONTENT FOR BLACK CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD

Meet legendary Hollywood producer, director, and animator Leo Sullivan and his wife Ethelyn O. Stewart Sullivan who have been working together for 60 years to uplift and inform Black families through animated interactive content. Their brand is called Afrokids® and pairs many digital properties including AfroKids.com and AfroKids.TV. Recently, they were honored by the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s “Operation Push” with a “Legacy Award” for their outstanding lifetime achievements.

The couple realized early on that in this fast-paced world families need a place that is both educational and entertaining with positive images and role models where Black children can see themselves in a positive way. “Our message is just as relevant today, as it was in the ’60s,” says Leo.

CHILDREN’S BOOK AUTHOR CROWNED FIRST BLACK MISS PRE TEEN INTERNATIONAL

Morgan E. Taylor popped on the scene when she was 5-years old as the co-author of Daddy’s Little Princess, a nonfiction children’s book that introduces real princesses of color from around the world.

Now, the preteen who envisioned being a princess is a queen. On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Morgan competed as Miss Pre Teen Tar Heel State for the international title and won, crowned as Miss Pre Teen International in Kingsport, Tennessee. She is the first Black preteen to achieve this honor.

“It’s such an honor to represent Pre Teens everywhere and to encourage young people to read,” said Morgan. “My goal is to be authentic and to be a positive role model.”
