Black-Owned Organization Called Homeschool Yo Kids Launches 13-City National Tour

Following a successful kickoff in Oakland, California, the Homeschool Yo Kid Expo 2026 is continuing its bold 4th chapter with a 13-city national tour, bringing homeschooling resources, education, and community directly to families across the country. Hosted by Homeschool Yo Kids Organization, the Expo is designed for all families with kids who are exploring homeschooling, alternative education, or seeking stronger educational support systems.

The Oakland Expo, held January 31, 2026, marked the launch of a nationwide movement focused on empowering families to take control of their children’s education. Building on that momentum, the Homeschool Yo Kid Expo will travel across the South, East Coast, Midwest, and West, meeting families where they are with tools, information, and connection.

Each Expo stop features interactive activities, inspiring speakers, curriculum and enrichment vendors, and hands-on learning experiences for both parents and children. The experience is intentionally inclusive — welcoming families who are brand new to homeschooling, actively homeschooling, or simply exploring educational options beyond traditional systems.

New Children’s Book Unveils the Story of North Charleston’s First Black Police Chief and Mayor

In a time when representation and leadership matter more than ever, author and youth empowerment advocate Sherrika Myers proudly announces the release of her inspiring new children’s book, Leader Guided By God.

The book tells the remarkable true story of the legendary Reggie Burgess, North Charleston, South Carolina’s first African American Police Chief and first African American Mayor, highlighting a journey rooted in faith, perseverance, discipline, and purpose.

Designed for elementary-aged readers, A Leader Guided By God introduces children to a living example of leadership, resilience, and integrity. Through engaging storytelling and age-appropriate language, the book teaches young readers that greatness is possible — regardless of obstacles, background, or circumstances.

This book is about showing children that Black history is not just something we read about in the past — it is still being written today,” says Myers. “When children see leaders who look like them serving with faith and courage, it expands their belief in what they can become.”

Two Black Women Healthcare Leaders Partner to Promote New Children’s Book About Oral Health Disparities

Celebrity Branding LLC proudly announces the nationwide launch of The Adventures of Liz and Abe: Visit to the Dentist. Written by Anthea “Nurse Noel” Noel and featuring nationally recognized celebrity dentist Dr. Catrise Austin, the book addresses the urgent issue of childhood oral health disparities while empowering families with prevention-focused education rooted in cultural representation and clinical expertise.

The timing is critical. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 50% of children ages 6–8 have experienced cavities in their baby teeth, making tooth decay the most common chronic childhood disease in the United States. Children in Black and underserved communities are disproportionately affected by untreated dental decay, increasing risks for pain, infection, missed school days, and long-term systemic health complications.

I was floored,” she shares. “I didn’t realize how closely oral health and heart health were connected. That experience reinforced for me that prevention must start in childhood — because what we ignore early can become life-threatening later.”

Medical research continues to demonstrate associations between periodontal disease and increased risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes complications, and systemic inflammation. Oral bacteria from untreated infections can enter the bloodstream, contributing to broader health conditions.

Black Mom of 2 Who is Also a Truck Driver Launches New Line of Natural Haircare Products

As a single mother juggling long days, real responsibilities, and very little margin for error, Ebony Richards, Founder and CEO of Luminous Strands, wasn’t trying to build a beauty brand. She was trying to fix a problem no one seemed to be addressing—why so many hair routines looked good on the surface but failed where it mattered most: the scalp.

Between work, motherhood, and late nights at home, Richards began experimenting on her kitchen counter.
