Nijaah Howard is a new author of Raising John’s Boy.  She pre-launched her book in March, but it will be released nationwide everywhere books are sold in June 2020.  Raising Johns Boy is a self-help memoir and guide to help single mothers who are raising son’s alone to discover their strength, voice, and power while eliminating negative self-talk and fear of raising a boy.

This book is a raw, honest approach to how Nijaah raised her son, M-Jay.  The hope is that the reader will take away practical tools to alleviate any concerns or misconceptions of a woman raising a boy into an independent, self-sufficient, stand up man.

Over 60 % of the African American household is run by women. Nijaah’s hope is to reduce the rate of single parent households tomorrow by helping mother’s who are raising son’s today.  Despite the over a decade back and forth in custody court, thoughts of suicide, thrown into jail by her son’s father, the many days of self-blame, the disparity of treatment from the system because she was not financially better than her son’s father, she still had dreams.

Although Nijaah was granted full custody early on, the manipulation, bullying, and control during court was paralyzing. She was determined to fight for her and her son’s future. With years of personal growth and development through counsel and coaching she overcame everything and graduated with her master’s degree and her son graduated the same year with high honors from High School.

AS THE EARTH STOOD STILL, BLACK COVID-19 PATIENTS DIED DISPROPORTIONATELY IN HOSPITALS

Nationwide -- A superpower made powerless. The world's healthcare organizations have no medical cure. The global economy halted. Airplanes grounded. Cars parked. Schools and college campuses closed. Record-setting unemployment. Hospitals, morgues, and funeral homes overwhelmed. These are the days the earth stood still.

However, even during the pandemic, African-American COVID-19 patients are dying disproportionately. One study suggests that race is a major factor in COVID-19 treatment. The study found that Black patients with COVID-19 symptoms are tested far less than white patients.

Around the world, it's the poor who live in overcrowded conditions and make up the essential workforce for most economies that are dying at alarming rates.

WHY AMERICA NEEDS A GEORGE FLOYD TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION
George Floyd Picture Right and I Can't Breathe Sign Source Wikipedia

By Op-ed Contributor Tolson Banner

George Floyd was murdered at the hands of the police.  Floyd’s murder flips the switch on the floodlights that now illuminate all of the other murders of unarmed black people at the hands of the police who have sworn to protect and serve.

It is the police who represent  one of the first lines of government  that blacks encounter and that encounter have been brutal and deadly.  What we witness over and over again is police carrying out  policies and laws instituted by politicians on the local, state and federal levels allowing police to operate with impunity.

What the murder of George Floyd has done was to put America on notice about her historical treatment of blacks since the beginning of the Atlantic enslavement trade.  For those who think blacks are only seeking justice for George Floyd miss the entire picture.  America via slave trackers, vigilante groups, KKK, Jim Crow, segregation, lynchings, housing discrimination, redlining and gentrification keeps the historical knee on the neck of all black people.

ORGANIZATION TO HOLD TRUMP AND CONGRESS ACCOUNTABLE FOR BLACK AMERICANS WHO DIED FROM COVID-19

Nationwide - Triangle ADOS in collaboration with ADOS CT, ADOS NE, Twin Cities ADOS, Rocky Mount ADOS, and Friends of ADOS TV have co-sponsored a petition for COVID-19 relief specific for ADOS. The proposal, submitted by Concerned Black American Citizens (CBAC) on May 4th, calls for the immediate release of $2.4 trillion in stimulus funding to provide: $6,000 per month, a 60% housing incentive, and federal employee health insurance to Black Americans who have suffered the highest disparities in death.

Justification for this proposal is due to the high percentage (35.7%) of Black Americans that have died from COVID-19 compared to the percent (13%) of Black Americans represented in the US Population. CBAC maintains that comments from the Surgeon General were not only irresponsible, but racist in is intent to placate the mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic by the US Government and Congress.
