18-Year-Old Black Founder of Gourmet Hot Dog Brand Now Owns Two Restaurants and a Food Truck

Nationwide -- Mason Wright, the young African American teen owner of Mason’s Super Dogs, Atlanta’s beloved gourmet hot dog brand, has officially opened a second location. That means he now owns two restaurants and a food truck.

Founded by Mason at the age of 12, Mason’s Super Dogs began as a humble hot dog cart on the campus of Morehouse College. Known for its unique flavors and fresh approach to classic favorites, the brand quickly grew a loyal following. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the original cart operations, Mason didn’t quit; he pivoted. At just 14 years old, he opened his first brick-and-mortar location in DeKalb County, Georgia, inspiring young entrepreneurs across the country.

Now, at 19 years old, Mason is bringing his innovative spirit back to the heart of Atlanta with the opening of this second location. “This is more than just a restaurant, it’s a dream come true,” said Wright. “I started this business to create something special for my community, and I’m excited to share this next chapter with the city that has supported me since day one.”

Mary-Pat Hector, community leader and advocate for youth entrepreneurship, shared her pride in achievements: “Mason is a shining example of what happens when young people are supported, encouraged, and given the tools to succeed. His journey from a 12-year-old with a cart to a 19-year-old opening his second location on the BeltLine shows what’s possible when determination meets vision. He represents the very best of Atlanta’s entrepreneurial spirit.”

Mason’s Super Dogs is more than just a restaurant; it’s a story of resilience, innovation, and community pride. From its early days on the Morehouse campus to its thriving locations today, Mason’s Super Dogs continues to prove that when passion meets purpose, the results are extraordinary.
