Mary and Eunice A Story Of How Black Women Are Valued By God And Society
Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was chosen to be the vessel of God's Salvation. Yet women, especially black women, are devalued in society.
This is why we also speak to the murder of NJ Council person Eunice Dwumford, because there have been no arrests in her case after over 2 months. She not only was a Council Person, but on the pastoral staff of her church.
It is as if the media and police don't really value her life. It's as if justice for her has been discarded.
Mary's prophesy in the book of Luke foretold of a savior who would be a change agent or a disrupter, as we would call him today! In this video Kamau Austin, reflects on how God honors women today in society - like the Creator did Mary, a brown skinned woman over 2,000 years ago.
Kamau gives a heart felt appreciation to Black women in this 17 minute video on Resurrection Day 4/9/2023, after Women's History Month below...

NEW MEMOIR FROM ARMY CHAPLAIN DR. JAMES DARREN KEY SHARES A MESSAGE OF HOPE, FAITH AND MORE
Author and U.S. Army chaplain James Darren Key highlights 40 lessons and stories about race, love, honor, and faith to inspire people during changing times in his new memoir A Long Way from Crenshaw: Lessons and Stories about Race, Love, Honor, and Faith for These Changing Times (published by WestBow Press).
With the purpose of being accessible to all, the author writes in a conversational style. Exploring how life can change, and not always positively, he demonstrates how the human spirit can overcome those circumstances.
Additionally, Key speaks candidly about growing up Black in California in the 1970s and 1980s. Wanting to empower others, the author examines his own weaknesses and fears.
Through this study, he hopes to help people:
• recognize failures and successes along their journey; • approach race and diversity with sensitivity and courage; • heal from an unhealthy relationship before starting a new one; • face trials and controversy with unshakable faith.
