BLACK WEALTH BUILDING EXPERT RELEASES NATIONAL ECONOMIC PLAN FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS

Nationwide -- Dr. Ralph Steele, an extraordinary expert on wealth building, has released a powerful new book entitled A National Economic Plan for Financial Inclusion for African Americans. PROSTATE CANCER SURVIVORS: THREE AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH NON-INVASIVE HIFU PROCEDURE

Nationwide -- Three African American men: Reggie Dye, a healthcare executive, Thomas Newell, a retired basketball referee for youth at risk and Victory Murray, NASA lead engineer whose team repaired Apollo 13, wanted a better way to treat their prostate cancer - one that promises a better quality of life post-treatment than surgery and radiation which are the standards of care. These two procedures can come with a greater risk of urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction and penile shrinkage.

When diagnosed with localized prostate cancer, they each selected a noninvasive procedure called High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). They got together to share each of their stories about their HIFU treatment, which is widely used across the world, but still relatively new in the United States, with select physicians across the country delivering the treatment.

HIFU is a noninvasive focal-therapy procedure that destroys targeted prostate tissue. HIFU directs extremely precise high-frequency sound waves that heat up and burn off only the diseased portion of the prostate, sparing surrounding tissue and nerves. Therefore, risks of common side effects associated with surgery and radiation -- urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction -- are lessened with HIFU.

It is clear that descendants of Black Americans that were kidnapped from Africa and forced to work for free for hundreds of years in America deserve to be compensated for their labor, pain and suffering.  The major beneficiary of slavery was the United States Government.

Since slave owners did not have to pay slave labor costs, they made exorbitant profits which equated to increased governmental taxes paid to the government. Those taxes made the United States one of the wealthiest countries in the world and literally built this country.

Without the substantial taxes generated by slave owners, the United States would have been arguably a third-world country. This free forced labor force even physically built major government buildings including the White House.

I’m sifting through the detritus: the ruins and decay of a human lifestyle once herald as the “NORM”. The mists from my recall are starting to dissipate. I’ve entered the COVID 19 twilight zone where all sense of ‘knowingness” ceases.

I’m at a place in time and space I know nothing about! I walk with my mustard seeds of faith; my higher consciousness – both closer to my spirit. Words have no place here.

Shhhhhh! SILENCE. STILLNESS. IS THIS THE NEW NORM?

It wasn’t that long ago I could venture outside indiscriminately. Catch a movie at a theater spontaneously. Grab a bite to eat without a moment’s notice. Take in a sunset by the ocean at will. Now my time isn’t so carefree.

My movement is clocked by the all-seeing CORONAVIRUS EYE!

Now, I must employ six feet social distancing less I find myself planted six feet in Mother Earth. A twenty- second hand washing may grant me another 60 seconds of life. A life of acclimation under Coronavirus duress. This transformation is taking place with or without my consent. COVID 19 arrived like an invisible plague with death lurking in its ominous shadows. So soon - too soon! And the Trump White House response has been too slow – way too slow!

Despite this grim outlook, I want to start imagining what this new NORM will look like and how much of the old NORM will carryover? I am asking myself during these pensive, reflective moments are we really grasping the “Armageddon” taking place in the skies of our minds? A battle between what was - what now?

I pose this query: Will we discard the rapacious and avaricious nature of “shock capitalism” which scares the defecation out of the people while corporations gloat in their greed?

Not much evidence of that taking place. If the first stimulus COVID 19 bill was any indication, it revealed corporate greed was still alive and still salivating from its penchant for over indulgence.

These are grim, quarantined, and unprecedented times occurring in places by the most unlikely mutant - COVID19 AKA The novel Coronavirus.

Let’s cut to the chase - these are extremely trying times as there has been many like this throughout our history, especially the black community. Yet, no matter the circumstance, gravity of challenge, or threat to our modus vivendi, modus operendi, and life we find ourselves at the same place and the same time.

Where are we? We are steadfast in a - PERFECT STORM...which is a rare combination of events or circumstances creating an unusually bad situation. In this case the storm can be characterized as a biological Armageddon where a virus with stealth-like features catapults from animals (likely a bat) to humans. 

With a  plethora of missteps as precedent make no mistake this biological Armageddon will usher in a “game changing fallout” equal to its once in a every 100 years predictability.  What makes this - COVID19 pandemic - a component of a perfect storm:

(1) the likely hood of gross leadership incompetence occurring in...

(2)  the same cycle with

(3) global malfeasance.

We saw this coming and ignored it, we watched it move across the globe with cloaked apprehension behind a penchant for rationalization -  it won’t get us. Now the epicenter is here  from Wuhan, China to - I love NY.

Nation and Worldwide, HBCU’s History: Dr. Herman G. Cooke, A Renown and Distinguished African American Scientist, Elizabeth City State University (1961-1977)

Dr. Herman Glenn Cooke (1918-1977), who touched the lives of many during the 1960s and 1970s at Elizabeth City State College (ECSC), now, Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, was professor of biology and a genius of an amazing biological discovery.  Internationally, he was recognized as the discoverer of an unknown species of Chironomid: Chironomidae (very small two-winged, nonbiting lake midges or swamp flies), near the vicinity of Madison, Wisconsin in 1962, so named in his honor. He was an exceptional collegiate professor: highly respected by colleagues, who mentored students; especially student-athletes, and their “academic achievements,” as they successfully completed their college studies and majors.

And now, all over the world, Dr. Cooke’s ground-breaking water research about nonbiting midges is needed “academically and medically,” certainly more than ever before!  Indeed, most urgently, we need to revisit Dr. Cooke’s swampy lakes and boggy rivers, because of the day-to-day illnesses and accumulative deaths of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  Clinically, COVID-19 researchers of etiology (infectious disease causes), immunology (immune system), epidemiology: viral pathogenesis (vaccines development), and other medical investigators, I therefore ask the question.  Could these wetland midges or organisms (anti-bacterial immunity and natural-bodily chemistry defense), that Dr. Cooke discovered help mankind treat, conquer, or cure the coronavirus?

These earthly flying midges are generally an important food source for fish, especially trout and young salmon, dance flies, sectivorous birds, flying predatory creatures, the plant Venus fly trap, and many other aquatic or water dwellers.  Midges and oxygen: Some species of midges are known as 'blood midges'. They contain the red blood pigment 'hemoglobin', which allows them to absorb oxygen from the water more readily.
