27-YEAR OLD WITH DOCTORATE DEGREE IN BUSINESS WAS INITIALLY REJECTED BY 25 UNIVERSITIES

Dr. Eli Joseph earned a bachelor’s degree at the age of 20, a master’s degree at age 21, and a doctorate degree while teaching at an Ivy League institution by the age of 24. As a TEDx speaker, he has always had a chip on his shoulder that was cultivated by the amount of failure and rejection that he has endured over the years. For that reason, he has authored a new book called The Perfect Rejection Resume that examines the introspective contrast of success (rejection) while providing unique ways that people can build confidence to overcome their failures.

Dr. Joseph has faced many rejections along the way. He comments, “We have a résumé that highlights our successes throughout our careers. Well recently, I created a rejection résumé which highlights all of my failures.” He cultivated a single-page document, formatted like a résumé that highlights all his major failures through education (rejections from institutions), work experience (rejections from firms), and awards (rejections from organizations).

The book uses his chapter interludes to collaborate with some influential people including Dr. Janice Gassam (Forbes Contributor), Jarry Lee (NYC signed Model/ Former BuzzFeed Deputy Editor), Devyn Simone (Wendy Williams/MTV television host), and many more.

I’m Puttin’ 2021 In My Rear-View Mirror: Post Haste!  OP-ED By Tolson Banner

I’m jumpin’ into my black hoop-dee.  I gotta jet out of 2021 ASAP!

My spirit tells me to head to the NORTH STAR to meet the new dawn of twenty deuce deuce (2022) - the moment it peaks over a new horizon.  I’m feeling a mystic cord of memory: like the great black migration from the south - a push and pull of the soul.

Historians have captured this Black journey with this soulful flow: “The lazy laughing south, with blood on her mouth and I who am black would love her; but she spits in my face.  So now I seek the North, the cold face North, for she, they say, is a kinder mistress.” I don’t believe we ever met that mistress.

I’m blazing out of 2021 like black people fleeing their homes set ablaze by the vitriolic antics of the Tiki torch boys or duped by the mortgage sub-prime loans orchestrated by the banks.

I don’t think I’ll travel along route US 50 (red and blue states).  I’ve convinced myself to revisit the roads less travelled - like Promise Street, Voting Rights Circle, Defund The Police Street (I think?) and Democracy Court.  I floored my black hoop-dee and got busy on Freedom Expressway.

I took the first exit up ahead, Promise Street via Biden Avenue.  The streets were strewn and dilapidated.  Word around here was these blocks held so much promise for change, like meeting the “kinder mistress.”

The African Most Beautiful USA Pageant Showcases Beautiful And Talented Women While Helping To Uplift Africa

The "African Most Beautiful USA," pageant is an event which showcases the beauty, talent, and brilliance of young women of African descent and direct lineage between the ages of 18-28.  The purpose of the pageant is also to raise money for important causes in Africa.  It is organized by the Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF).

Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization based in the United States. The AAF is the brainchild of Nana Obaahemaa Nkrumah Akosua Adasa III, a Ghanian-American, who started the organization with a desire to provide the village of Abofrem, her original hometown located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, as well as the surrounding villages in Ghana and other African countries access to food, employment, education, sanitation, and medical needs.

FILMMAKER TO RELEASE ANIMATED FILM THAT ADDRESSES CHILDHOOD OBESITY AMONG BLACK YOUTH

The Double V campaign, created by the Pittsburgh Courier and supported by the Black press, captured and gave voice to the frustration of African-American soldiers who fought valiantly overseas during World War II, only to return to the same racial restrictions that they left.

While the campaign for democracy remains vital for African-Americans, an equally critical sphere of doom looms over the protesters' descendants and warrants the attention and support of the Black press. This sphere of doom is childhood obesity.

The State of Obesity, a publication by the Robert Woods Foundation, reports that between 2019 and 2020, the childhood obesity rate for Black youth ages 10 through 17 was 28.3%. Studies show that children today may be the first generation of children to have shorter lives than their parents. For Black children, especially those growing up in urban areas served by Black newspapers, the future looks even more bleak, absent immediate intervention. This intervention must take into account how Black children learn and what they enjoy.
