“I created Cocoa Classroom because I knew firsthand what it felt like to be unseen in the classroom,” said the Roebucks. “Growing up, I was often the only Black child in school—fighting for belonging, overlooked for my achievements, and mislabeled as a problem. When my daughter was born, I vowed her story would be different. I wanted her to grow up knowing her brilliance, her beauty, and her boundless potential. Cocoa Classroom is the platform I built to make that possible—not just for my family, but for families everywhere.”

What Cocoa Classroom Offers

• AI Lesson Generator: Create lessons, quizzes, and worksheets in seconds

• Parent Tools: Quickly review recent student activity, track progress across courses, and view grades or report cards

• Smart Scheduling: Automatically generates daily learning plans based on your family’s needs

• Multilingual Platform: Available in over 17 languages to support diverse households

• Printable & Uploadable Worksheets: Learn offline, submit digitally

• Cocoa Beans (Coming Soon): A gamified reward system to encourage student engagement

A Couple’s Journey Becomes a Family Solution

The Roebuck’s path to building Cocoa Classroom began when his daughter was preparing to enter kindergarten. Concerned she would face the same isolation he once did, he turned to homeschooling. What started with makeshift workbooks in the basement became a mission: to design a platform that honored his daughter’s identity, curiosity, and learning style.

From coding his first educational apps to navigating the shutdown of Utah’s virtual academy during the pandemic, to being laid off from his engineering job in 2022, the Roebucks turned obstacles into fuel. The turning point came with the arrival of AI: “When I discovered ChatGPT, I realized I could finally keep up with my daughter’s pace,” he said. “I wasn’t just building software anymore—I was building freedom, legacy, and a new model for education.”

Today, Cocoa Classroom reflects that vision: homeschooling tools built from lived experience, designed to empower parents, and rooted in the belief that education should affirm every child’s worth.
