GULLAH GEECHEE-INSPIRED
TEEN SUPERHEROINE TO LIFE
IN NEW SECOND EDITION
Author Max Miller releases an updated edition of her Young Adult sci-fi fantasy novel, rooted in Southern and Gullah heritage
Author Max Miller announces the release of the Second Edition of The Gordite: The Legacy of Sadie Mae Stevens - Book 1, a Young Adult sci-fi fantasy novel that draws deeply from her Gullah and Geechee cultural roots. Miller wrote the original story while living in North Carolina, and this new edition sharpens the narrative while keeping its Southern heart intact.
The novel follows Sadie Mae Stevens, a teenager who discovers she carries a hidden legacy connected to another world. After the devastating loss of her mother, Sadie begins uncovering secrets about her family, her extraordinary abilities, and a mysterious realm that has waited for her arrival. A powerful mountain named Lendra guides her, and an unforgettable frogman named Norris trains her, as she steps into a strange and wondrous forest filled with creatures unlike anything she has known.
Sadie's journey carries real stakes. The Tetradyne Rulers, a group of powerful beings, threaten Earth and the worlds connected to it. Among them stands the Gordite, a ruthless, one-eyed ruler who holds a devastating connection to Sadie's mother's past. Sadie must claim her power and her place in a legacy far bigger than herself.
Miller builds this story on the foundation of Gullah Geechee culture, weaving ancestral strength, resilience, and connection to land and lineage into Sadie's coming-of-age journey. Readers meet a heroine whose power grows directly from the history and spirit of her people.
"Sadie's story carries the voice of my own heritage," Miller says. "Her strength comes from the same place mine does: family, land, and a legacy worth protecting."

About the Author
Max W. Miller creates incredible stories about places, people, and things she's either imagined, seen in a dream, or was captivated by the strength of a person's life. Her Science Fiction and Fantasy books have won Book of the Day Awards and have earned spots among the Amazon Top 100.
During childhood, Max relied on reading and writing to carry her through tough times. She loves the wonder of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Paranormal storytelling, and her writing serves as medicine for her soul.
In her own words:
"I was a little girl growing up in the South, actually Savannah, Georgia. As a teen who lived through Round 1 of desegregation, I know what it feels like to walk into a room and listen to lively conversations dwindle into silence. Even today, my heart may race as I remember all eyes glaring; my character judged by the brown glistening off my skin. Those were the years I sought to defy criticisms and thoughtless comments by roaring like a lion if I had to. Those were the days I learned to excel."
"With my whole heart, I write vividly and poetically. Sometimes I don't land a grand slam as I would like to. Still, most will admit that what I've seen in my mind's eyes captivated them, if only a piece of their soul."
Max draws readers into the world of her characters, into their feelings of inadequacy, losses, and triumph.
"I know how events, people, and words from the past can devastate the present and future. That's why I blog more about life's Full-Circle moments than my books. Characters are created from real events enhanced to pull the reader into that world. Childhood trauma is a grizzly bear until you realize that the only person responsible for climbing out of tragedies is the person at the center. That person is you!"
Max treasures family time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. She champions tough love during adolescent rebellion and maintains a healthy body through natural remedies.

New Self-Help Book “Blame It on the Feel of Pain” About Detangling From Past Pain
Get ready for a transformational journey toward inner peace as indie author Max W. Miller’s new self-help release, Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, inspires readers in a witty, down-to-earth book. Truth and compassion are foretold, using poetic frames called ‘The Wises,’ and the help of opinionated little emojis bringing laughter and thought-provoking conclusions throughout.
The author encourages her readers, whom she also calls partners, to stop wrestling with the hard knocks of the past. She expresses how voluntarily walking back into time precedes trauma healing. Confronting lingering pains is a step toward strength and hope for the future. ‘Blame It’ delves into the author’s life experiences, bringing to life the importance of using Full Circle Moments to find resolutions.
Throughout Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, the reader grows to understand through a unique interpretation that what we are destined to become grows out of the years we’ve already traveled. Further, our future hinges on how we address the pains of the past. Other expressions focus on how desires in the present are carved out of having a clear vision that old, lingering strongholds must be defeated. A history of suffering is a prerequisite for becoming fed up enough to demand enjoyment now!
