From Wilmington to Philadelphia:
R&B Artist Fred Reed Inspires With
Music and Mentorship

Acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and community advocate Fred Reed is making waves both on and off the stage as he continues to uplift his community in Philadelphia and Delaware while preparing to release his powerful new single, “Teach Me,” on April 18, 2025.

Known for his soulful vocals and heartfelt storytelling, Fred Reed has become a local celebrity whose influence extends far beyond music.

With roots that trace back to the church and a career that began in the ‘90s, Fred has opened for legendary acts including 112, Mary J. Blige, Run DMC, and Gerald LeVert, and worked with celebrated producers like Scott Storch.

His previous hits, including “Found You” featuring Raheem DeVaughn and “I Want You Back,” have cemented his status as a respected voice in modern R&B.

Now, as the founder and CEO of his own independent label Fred Reed Music, he’s set to make a bold return with “Teach Me”—an intimate, emotionally charged anthem about love, vulnerability, and the willingness to grow in relationships.

“‘Teach Me’ is my way of saying, ‘I care, I’m listening, and I want to get it right,’” says Reed. “It’s a grown, soulful anthem for anyone working to better themselves in love.”

As the founder of the Reeds Refuge Center in Wilmington, Delaware, Fred is dedicated to creating a safe haven for youth and families affected by violence, poverty, and trauma.

The nonprofit offers academic support, mentoring, and creative arts programming, helping young people find their voice and purpose.

“I grew up surrounded by struggle—drugs, violence—it was all around me. I wanted to create something that could change the narrative for the next generation,” Fred shares. “The Reeds Refuge Center is a place where kids can be safe, dream big, and stay inspired.”

Fred’s authenticity, both in his music and his mission, has earned him a loyal fanbase and the admiration of communities throughout the region. His work with local youth and his message of staying true to oneself continue to inspire the next wave of creatives and leaders.

“I always tell kids, ‘There’s already a Meek Mill and a Beyoncé—be the best version of you. Be original.’ That’s what I try to live by.”

As anticipation builds for “Teach Me,” fans can expect more music, visuals, and community-focused initiatives from an artist who truly walks the walk.

“Teach Me” drops on all major streaming platforms April 18, 2025.
