Second Keynote Announced for Fifth Annual Athene Black & Brown Business Summit

 The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) has announced Kely Nascimento as the second keynote speaker for the Fifth Annual Athene Black & Brown Business Summit, presented by Wells Fargo.

Nascimento is co-founder and chief impact officer of Hadaf Global, which helps organizations worldwide inspire change through the universal language of sports. Her work focuses on fostering cultural connections, building international partnerships and advancing sustainable development. Nascimento has rich experience uniting the world through the power of sports and storytelling and has lectured at institutions like Harvard, Yale, and NYU.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kely Nascimento to the keynote lineup for the upcoming Athene Black & Brown Business Summit,” said Katherine Harrington, president and CEO of the WDM Chamber. “Nascimento has a powerful message and will undoubtedly inspire new innovative ideas that will drive progress in our community and beyond.”

Nascimento also produced and directed Warriors of a Beautiful Game, a feature documentary on women’s soccer that is slated to be released this year. She serves on the advisory boards for Global Goals World Cup, The True Athlete Project, LEAD Africa, and Gondwana FC, and is on the board of directors for the Beyond Sport Foundation. Nascimento also serves as an ambassador for Laureus Sports for Good.

Nascimento will speak at the event on April 16, 2025, at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel. Attendees can expect practical discussions, dynamic speakers, engaging workshops, and ample networking opportunities. Nascimento’s attendance at the Athene Black & Brown Business Summit is made possible through a partnership with Krause Group and Musco Lighting.
