The 2025 Black Romance Book Fest is set to take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, in Atlanta, GA, bringing together over 1,800 readers, literary enthusiasts, and advocates for a transformative celebration of Black voices in romance literature.

BRBF 2025 offers a platform for amplifying diverse narratives and highlighting the richness of Black Romance literature. With a lineup of over 125 authors—including celebrated names like Kennedy Ryan, Beverly Jenkins, Tia Williams, Lauren Lacey, N.E. Davenport, Jasmine Guillory, Natasha Bishop, and K.C. Mills—this festival reflects the breadth of talent within the Black literary community.

Since its announcement in May 2024, BRBF has captured the hearts of readers and authors alike. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a full-scale movement fueled by the unwavering support of Black readers, literary enthusiasts, and content creators. Through the power of social media, particularly platforms like Instagram (Bookstagram), the festival has built a loyal following, creating buzz and excitement that underscores the demand for spaces where Black stories and the authors who craft them can be celebrated.

“The Black Romance Book Fest is more than just a festival—it’s a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together with purpose and passion,” said Lauren Lacey, event organizer and Black Romance author. “Black Romance isn’t a niche. It’s a genre filled with joy, complexity, beauty, and resilience, and it deserves to be celebrated on a grand stage.”

A central mission of BRBF 2025 is to shine a spotlight on Black authors whose stories often face systemic marginalization within the publishing industry and literary community. Despite the barriers they encounter, these authors continue to produce powerful stories that resonate deeply with readers. BRBF provides them with an opportunity to connect with an audience that values and supports their work, helping to amplify their voices and broaden their reach.

BRBF isn’t just about celebrating literature — it’s also about paying it forward. As part of its commitment to fostering the next generation of Black creatives and leaders, the festival will award scholarships to four students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This initiative reflects BRBF’s dedication to investing in the future of marginalized communities and ensuring that its impact extends beyond the literary world.

BRBF’s success is an example of what can be achieved through grassroots efforts and community-driven advocacy. It’s become a movement that challenges the status quo and celebrates the richness of Black storytelling.

At BRBF, attendees will enjoy panels, workshops, book signings, and immersive activities designed to foster connection and celebrate the transformative power of Black love stories. BRBF 2025 promises to be a celebration of culture, creativity, and community that will leave a lasting impact.
