Kamau: Congratulations on celebrating your 43rd wedding anniversary with your husband Doug! What do you believe are the secrets to maintaining a strong and loving marriage for so many years?
Germaine: Thank you. The key to our lasting love and marriage lies in a few essential elements. First and foremost, it's about mutual respect and support. We have always been each other's biggest cheerleaders, supporting one another's dreams and ambitions. Communication is also vital; we make sure to openly share our thoughts, feelings, and concerns with each other. Trust is the foundation of any successful marriage, and we have always trusted and believed in each other.
Kamau: In addition to your successful marriage, you have made significant strides in the beauty industry. Can you share a bit about your journey as an entrepreneur and how it led to the creation of IKNOW Skincare?
Germaine: Absolutely! My journey as an entrepreneur in the beauty industry has been an incredible ride. With my passion for beauty and unwavering dedication, I founded GBL Sales, Inc., and The Ubiquitous Women’s Expo, where I helped transform numerous multicultural beauty brands into multi-million-dollar enterprises. Through this experience, I recognized the need for a skincare brand that caters specifically to mature skin, addressing its unique needs and concerns. This realization gave birth to IKNOW Skincare, where we are committed to revolutionizing skincare for those with mature skin.
Kamau: Tell us more about IKNOW Skincare and how it caters to the needs of mature individuals.
Germaine: IKNOW Skincare is a brand that prioritizes the unique needs of mature skin. As we age, our skin requires different care and attention. Our products are carefully formulated with ingredients that nourish and rejuvenate mature skin, helping to combat the signs of aging and promoting a healthy, radiant complexion. We believe that everyone should feel confident and beautiful at any age, and our products are designed to empower individuals to embrace their natural beauty.

Germaine: My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to be passionate about what you do and always strive for excellence. Believe in yourself and your vision, even when faced with challenges. Surround yourself with a supportive team and never be afraid to seek guidance and mentorship from experienced individuals. Most importantly, stay true to your values and the impact you want to create. Making a difference in the beauty industry requires dedication, innovation, and a genuine desire to help others feel beautiful and confident.
