Both licensed pharmacists, Amanda from New York and Glenn, originally from Canada, met while attending the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. The couple has been married for 13 years.

They were travel enthusiasts and enjoyed traveling together before becoming parents. To their dismay, the travel agent they first encountered after their first daughter, Brooklyn, was born tried to discourage them from traveling with their two-month-old baby. The travel agent immediately informed them of the services the resort would not provide to accommodate the new parents.  Undeterred, the couple took it upon themselves to plan their itinerary and enjoyed a life-changing travel experience.

When thinking of all the other Black parents who may have been similarly discouraged, Glenn and Amanda became inspired to officially launch In-Style Travel to curate luxurious travel packages intended specifically for Black families, looking to enjoy international and domestic travel with children of all ages.

MARIAH LOVEMORE BECOMES THE YOUNGEST BLACK WOMAN TO FORMULATE AN ALL-NATURAL, ORGANIC HAIR GROWTH OIL

Mariah Lovemore, an African American cosmetologist from Cincinnati, Ohio, was just 27 years old when she began researching how to develop a hair growth formula for men and women with natural hairstyles. It took her 7 years to get it right, but she has finally broken the code.

And now, at 34 years old, she is one of the country's first and only Black women to have developed an all-natural, organic hair growth formula that really works.

Her signature product is called Naija Growth Elixir, and it helps make natural hair more manageable, softer, and shinier which retains length and stimulates growth in areas treating alopecia, postpartum, and dandruff. Her innovative formula accomplishes all of this without leaving a person’s natural hair and scalp feeling greasy.

It has given people of African descent hope and courage to wear their hair with confidence while enjoying its invigorating and pleasant fragrance.

Mariah says that she inherited her entrepreneurial spirit such as passion, creativity, confidence, motivation, optimism resilience, and decisiveness. She says “her motto from the source of healing” goes deeper than the surface.

BLACK TRAVEL NURSE TURNED CEO DEVELOPS FIRST EVER LINE OF SCRUBS MADE WITH ORGANIC HEMP FABRIC

LaQuanza Dockery, an accomplished travel nurse with a master’s degree in leadership and management, is also the founder and CEO of SkynRN, the only scrub line in production that offers organic hemp fabric, the strongest natural fiber in the world.
Some of the benefits of organic hemp include:
  • UV-ray protection
  • moisture wicking
  • anti-odor
  • anti-mold, and
  • anti-pilling
It is also fade-resistant, and lasts three times longer than cotton.

One of the brilliant, more boastful details about this fabric is that it offers an all-natural antimicrobial barrier that never denigrates when washed. This, however, is not the case with other scrub companies who spray their scrubs with silver ion.

Organic hemp is far superior to any other anti-microbial due to all its benefits. What’s more, organic hemp is sustainable, so it doesn’t deplete any of our natural resources. It also uses 1/20th of the water it takes to produce cotton. Once harvested, it restores its nutrients back to the soil.

BLACK FINANCIAL CONSULTANT SEEKS TO EMPOWER AFRICAN AMERICANS TO RECLAIM LOST LAND THROUGH REAL ESTATE CROWDFUNDING

In a visionary quest to reverse the staggering loss of land and property faced by African Americans over the centuries, Kelvin Harris, a dedicated financial consultant, real estate investor, and author, has embarked on a mission that could redefine the trajectory of African American communities nationwide. With a profound vision of how crowdfunding can be a powerful tool for financial empowerment, Kelvin Harris introduces the Forbes Farmhouse crowdfunding offering, inviting everyone to participate in reshaping the future of our communities.

The Forbes Farmhouse project aims to restore a piece of history and empower communities, all while providing a unique opportunity for investors to contribute to a brighter future. Mr. Harris is on a mission to leverage crowdfunding to reverse the land ownership disparities that have plagued African Americans for generations, noting that approximately 90% of the 14 million acres of land owned by Blacks in 1910 has been either seized or lost.

“We believe that financial empowerment is within reach for all African Americans. With projects like the Forbes Farmhouse crowdfunding offering, we’re presenting everyone with a chance to invest in their financial future, create generational wealth, and support projects that will revitalize our neighborhoods,” Mr. Harris passionately states.

What is Real Estate Crowdfunding? A Secure Path to Investment

Regulation Crowdfunding came about as part of the JOBS Act under President Barack Obama back in April 2012. Real Estate Crowd Funding (aka Equity crowdfunding) is a groundbreaking approach to real estate investing, opening doors to a wider range of investors.

What sets it apart is the rigorous oversight it undergoes from regulatory bodies like the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), ensuring the validity and security of investment opportunities. Equity crowdfunding portals, like securelivingrei.com, where Forbes Farmhouse offering is listed, are meticulously vetted and regulated by the SEC and FINRA. This oversight ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards, providing investors with confidence in the legitimacy of investment opportunities.

BLACK NON-PROFIT USES
MOBILE MENTORING BUS AND
NEW APPAREL LINE TO
INSPIRE BLACK AND
BROWN YOUTH

Calvin T. Mann, President and Founder of Encourage Me I’m Young (EMIY) Inc., a Detroit-based non-profit organization has launched both a mobile mentoring bus and an apparel line to inspire Black youth.

EMIY is all about supporting Black and brown boys, girls, and their families against the negative forces they deal with every day.

“Negative influences have been normalized today, like violent video games and toxic social media–and it’s causing higher suicide rates, more bullying, heightened racism, more violence, and substance abuse,” Mann said. “We’ve created a new line of family-friendly apparel that schools and families can use to create positivity in our communities and help us continue the important work of encouraging others.”

EMIY Founder & President Calvin T. Mann

The EMIY mobile mentoring bus (as seen on Fox 2 Detroit)
is used to reach young Black youth who are in crisis because of not having a positive figure in their lives. The concept is to pull up at sporting events and community activities and provide immediate encouragement to the young children who are there.
