Get The Scoop On Why Black Americans Should Do Business With Africa
Business With Africa
Africa presents some of the most compelling business and trade opportunities of the 21st century, especially for Black entrepreneurs, investors, and persons from the Caribbean seeking to reconnect with and benefit from the continent's rapid economic transformation. The statistics below reveal why Africa is emerging as the next global growth hub across multiple sectors.
Demographic Power and Workforce Expansion
Africa’s population is estimated at 1.46 billion in 2025, with a median age of only 19.3 years. The World Bank projects that the working-age population will grow by over 620 million by 2050,
accounting for three-quarters of new labor force additions in all
emerging markets.
This youth-driven demographic shift ensures a growing
consumer base for housing, automobiles, electronics, food, education,
and more. Approximately 45% of Africans live in cities, and urbanization continues to accelerate, fueling demand for infrastructure, logistics, and retail.

Why Should Black or African Americans Explore Doing Business in Africa?
By Kamau Austin
As mentioned earlier in some of my past articles there is a troubling trend gaining traction on social media—an escalating quasi-movement pushing division between Black Americans, Caribbeans, and Africans. What we are witnessing is nothing new; it is a modern form of digital tribalism that plays directly into the hands of white supremacy. The goal is simple: divide and conquer.
But Why Should Black or African Americans Explore Doing Business in Africa? Let's explore why unity through commerce is one of the reasons we should seriously consider doing business with the Motherland.
The Danger of Digital Division
Some myopic voices within movements like ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) and FBA (Foundational Black Americans) have allowed legitimate frustrations about reparations and historic injustice to morph into hostility toward other people of African descent. While the fight for reparations is righteous and long overdue, framing it in a way that alienates global Black communities is a recipe for isolation, weakness, and—ultimately—invisibility in this increasingly white-supremacist political climate.
Instead of arguing over who is “more authentic,” we should be building coalitions across continents. We are stronger together than apart. Every time we allow artificial lines to divide us, we hand power back to those who profit from our fragmentation.

Black Mom Speaks Out: “My Daughter Was Taken by My Adoptive Parents”
Madison Wolfe and her husband Wesley — a proud Black and Mexican family — say they have been living a nightmare for over a year. According to Madison, the trouble began after a car accident involving their daughter, Kamia. She says doctors told her there was bruising on Kamia’s chest, but she explained it came from the 5-point car seat harness. “I had contusions all over my chest from the crash myself,” Madison said. She alleges that instead of considering this, the hospital claimed the marks were “consistent with sexual assault.”

Get The Scoop On Eric Adams Bowing out of NYC Mayoral Race And Questions On the Escalating Blacklash and Ghosting of Black Political Power
Eric Adams Bows Out of NYC Mayoral Race
Is this another Chapter in
the Ghosting of Black Political Power?
By Kamau Austin, Co-publisher of the Black News Scoop
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced he will not seek re-election, marking a dramatic turn in the city’s political landscape. While Adams cited fundraising difficulties, relentless media speculation, and the fallout from a now-dismissed federal corruption case, many observers see this moment as part of a larger, troubling pattern: the erosion of Black political power in America’s highest offices.
There seems to be a pattern emerging that could be construed as a playbook. Black political leaders of prominence — from Marilyn Mosby in Baltimore to Attorney General Letitia James in New York, from Fani Willis in Atlanta to economist Lisa Cook on the Federal Reserve — have all faced legal, political, or media challenges that severely undercut their ability to lead. These challenges, often amplified by mainstream legacy outlets, echo an earlier era when Mayor David Dinkins, New York’s first Black mayor, was relentlessly attacked in the press, shaping negative public perception that ultimately derailed his career.
Critics argue that while Black leaders are aggressively pursued over questionable or relatively minor allegations — from property purchases to personal relationships — others, including our President with more than 35 legal judgments, continue to thrive politically. The disparity raises urgent questions about double standards in both media coverage and legal scrutiny.
In Adams’ case, despite the dismissal of federal charges, the stigma lingered. Combined with hostile coverage from outlets such as the New York Post and Fox News, the public narrative shifted decisively against him. The result was political isolation, dwindling donor support, and, ultimately, his withdrawal from the race.

Get The Scoop On If Christianity Is A Force of Mental Slavery to Black Christians?
Is Christianity a Force of
Mental Slavery to Black Christians?
Resources on Black Progressive and Revolutionary Christianity
Increasingly, some in the Black community are leaving the Church and Christianity altogether, calling it the “white man’s religion” or a tool of mental slavery. While it’s true that certain interpretations of Christianity have encouraged passivity and compliance with oppressive systems, it’s equally true that other expressions of the faith have been profoundly liberating—fueling revolutions, inspiring resistance, and sustaining movements for justice.
Christianity as a Tool of LiberationHistory bears witness to the fact that countless Black leaders rooted their fight for freedom in Christian faith. Harriet Tubman relied on her deep spirituality to guide enslaved Africans to freedom along the Underground Railroad.
Nat Turner led one of the most significant slave rebellions in U.S. history inspired by biblical visions. Marcus Garvey invoked spiritual language to rally a global Pan-African movement.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached nonviolent resistance from the pulpit. The Deacons of Defense used their faith as a shield for civil rights workers against white supremacist terror. And long before them, Richard Allen founded the African Methodist Episcopal Church to empower Black Christians spiritually and politically.
Their faith was not a force of submission—it was a force of defiance, vision, and liberation. Without their insights and sacrifices, many of the freedoms we now take for granted, including the ability to openly debate religion and justice on social media, would not exist.
Reading the Bible for ThemselvesDr. Gayraud Wilmore, in his book Black Religion and Black Radicalism, shows that once enslaved Africans gained wider access to literacy and could read the Bible for themselves, rebellions and insurrections increased. Instead of pacifying them, scripture often emboldened them. They drew inspiration from the prophetic voices of Moses, Micah, and Amos—who all called for freedom from oppression and justice for the marginalized.

Get The Scoop On What Healthy Really Means (and Doesn't)
What Healthy Really Means (and Doesn’t)
By Afi Okon, MPA, Solutions-Provider focused on wellness and community empowerment. Creator of Let’s Make Healthy, Our New Happy Campaign and Founder, American Obesity Foundation
So, let’s define it — what does "healthy" really mean? It’s not a number on the scale. It’s not a diet plan. And it’s sure not what you see on social media.
Healthy simply, means your family has the energy to live, love, and grow. It means your meals nourish more than your bodies — they bring you together. It means you move your bodies not to punish them, but to celebrate what they can do.
In this campaign, healthy means:
Feeding your family with love and intention
Finding joy in movement
Creating moments of calm, connection, and care
Building habits that support long-term well-being
Choosing a Culture of Healthy Living
Healthy doesn’t mean:
Being perfect or rigid
Cutting out entire food groups unless necessary
Comparing yourself to others
Sacrificing joy for the sake of control
