Epic Everyday is dedicated to building confidence in children, ensuring they feel seen and celebrated. With the empowering slogan “Never Ordinary, Always EPIC!” the brand’s mission is to affirm self-love and inspire children. EPIC Everyday offers clothing, accessories, bedding, and bath goods that highlight representation and cater to the busy family lifestyles.

“The lack of true inclusion is the reason we intentionally wanted to fill a void and change the narrative,” said Cara Johnson-Graves. “Despite making up 15% of the population, less than 2% of products in stores or online represent us. As moms, my sister and I were shocked at the extremely limited gifts and gear with authentic, relatable characters that looked like our children. We are committed to bridging creativity with culture, and joy is at the heart of everything we create. Every product is a conversation starter where EPIC stands for Empowered, Positive, Innovative, and Creative!”

Epic Everyday offers a vibrant kids’ lifestyle brand, including best-sellers such as backpacks, hooded towels, totes, and hoodies. These items feature characters that children can connect with, serving as tools for building self-esteem. The “mocha-hued” characters display a wide range of skin tones and hair textures, from light to rich dark brown, and from wispy curls to coily tresses, promoting positive self-reflection and combating colorism and hair discrimination.

Graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and STEM professionals, Cara and Jenae recognize the importance of visibility and representation. With no prior retail experience, they utilized their leadership skills, educational background, and maternal insights to create a brand that resonates with the next generation, igniting hope in future change-makers and striving for a more inclusive world. Their inspiring journey has been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Amazon, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, BeyoncĂ©’s Black Parade Route, and more!
Epic Everyday is more than just a brand; it’s a movement. By fostering community partnerships and offering visually affirming products, Cara and Jenae aim to empower children worldwide. Their mission is for boys and girls to feel valued and visible through impactful connections. In addition to recently launching health & beauty collections with a line of adult scrub tops, and mini salon & barber capes for children. The brand has donated over $150K to communities in need, collaborating with corporate sponsors and non-profit outreach initiatives.

“We aim to create items that encourage kids to reach their full potential and thrive,” says Jenae Johnson-Carr. “Our ongoing wish is for children to appreciate and celebrate their individuality. We are excited to see more Black-owned businesses grow and reflect Black culture.”

Epic Everyday continues to see consistent growth in 2024, riding the wave of the rising number of Black-owned women businesses. By celebrating diversity and empowering children, Cara and Jenae hope to leave a lasting impact on their community and beyond, fostering a generation of confident, inspired, and resilient youth.
