What’s better than one Black future billionaire? Two. Tech star Angel Rich is having the best year ever. On July 11th, the Black wealth visionary got engaged. “I was speechless for at least 3 minutes,” she said. The Hampton Alum, who has maintained a private personal life, says that she is very excited to announce her engagement to Karl Jones, 40, Howard Alum.
Recently making history in Forbes as the first Black American to secure an institutional partnership with one of the three major credit bureaus by launching her new CreditRich AI app in partnership with Experian, fintech pioneer and author of the best-selling book History of the Black Dollar, Angel Rich is in having a magical year.
Rich, Vice Chair of the DC Financial Literacy Council and Jones, Director of GEM Partnerships at ansrsource are most looking forward to collaborating on making a global impact thru financial education technology solutions, a plan put in motion on their first date.
At Hampton, Angel double-majored in Marketing and Management, graduating with 6 honors. After thriving as the newspaper’s Advertising Manager and winner of multiple business competitions, Rich shined in Global Market Research at Prudential Financial.
At Howard, Karl majored in Finance and joined the Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. After graduation, he flourished in Investment Management at Blackrock before pursuing his passion for financial education. Karl’s mother, Bernice Jones, served in Howard’s Office of the Secretary for nearly 20 years.
Together they have combined Angel’s financial literacy and Black history content with ansrsource’s technology to publish high-quality online courses for schools and corporate settings in partnership with For(bes) the Culture and Greenwood.
How did the HU rivals meet you ask? Bumble. “Funnily I connected with the founder in her early days and can’t wait to thank her in person,” Rich laughed.
On the day of the proposal, Karl arranged for the day to start with breakfast at his parent’s home and end with an elaborate dinner with them and Angel’s mother. “Knowing his parents have been married for 40 years gives me great comfort in our already bright future,” said Rich. “But what I don’t know is how our children will survive our recruiting. Let the best school win.”
The numerically savvy couple will be celebrating Love Jones – A Fairy Tale Wedding on 02.22.22 on the DC Waterfront. Check out the official Engagement Announcement for more pictures.
