Raquel Newton Is The Jewel Of Healing Touch

Raquel Newton, the Founder of Nature's Finest MyStry Jewelry And Wellness, shines in her concern for healing.  Early in her life one of her dreams was to become a jewelry designer.

Raquel endured rueful health challenges growing up which moved her in the direction of healing solutions to her problems.  This resulted in a mix of extraordinary products imbued with a touch of mystery, jeweled beauty, and healing properties due to impressed client's requests.

Newton's work is often customized jewelry and also essential treatments created to alleviate pain.  She exudes an elegant creativity in her work that radiates her intelligent use of wellness insights.

Exclusive Interview with
Raquel Newton

Kamau's Question: Raquel, you are very multi-dimensional and talented.  You have a concern for others, especially as it relates to their health and wellness.  You also have a profound creative nature in you.

So can you share what motivates you and also tell me a bit about your background?

Raquel's Answer: I was born with scoliosis which has caused severe migraines and chronic pain since I was 2 years old.

I tried medication in my early adulthood to try to ease the pain, but it was fruitless. By the age of 20 my stomach lining had been eroded from the medication. I could barely eat and I lost a lot of weight.

I began doing more investigation into herbs and natural cures for pain and began to study essential oils. I began to experience a bit of relief and was able to put my original weight back on which was very good for me. by the age of 30. I'd taken a physical therapy assistant position.

Kamau's Question: Who or what inspired you to take the leap of faith and go into the jewelry business?

Raquel's Answer: Nature's finest mystery, jewelry and wellness was born out of a need to heal and improve my own life. While my search for healing was happening, I realized I needed an outlet for creating, I have been a creator all my life.

Starting when I was around 7 or 8 and throughout my life, I have been an avid reader. My parent's home was full of books on all kinds of subjects.

I came across a few about gemstones and all of the beauty of nature, including flowers.  One of my dreams as a child was to become a jewelry designer.

Kamau's Question: Can you tell us more about your brand?

Raquel's Answer: I should say what was in my spirit, I just needed to work with nature's gifts to us. And along with the essential oils, this was another aspect of that. It wasn't until I was about 45 that I made my very first gemstone bracelets and I just shared them in my excitement on Facebook.

Kamau's Question: What was the response like?

Raquel's Answer: I'd made them for my children and myself. And I was so excited and so were other people. I began to get requests.

Hey, can you make me something for this? And for that and for the other and I Gladly did so. That was the beginning of Nature’s Finest MyStry. I had learned that each gemstone has certain energy or properties.

I would create the pieces to tell the story of each gemstone contained in the bracelets, as it related to the person who made the request. I would include the properties with the bracelet.  This took off and to date, I've made probably 1000 unique designs and I am absolutely in love. So I do bracelets necklaces earrings and waist beads.

Kamau's Question: Intriguing.  Can you tell us more about what led you to create such unique products?

Raquel's Answer: I'd taken on a physical therapy assistant position in 2001 and was responsible for massage, and exercise with our patients.  During the massage, I would apply various essential oils to relieve the type of pain they were in, if the patients were okay with me doing so.

I would mix the oils in my hand and I would apply to the patient's area of pain then continue through the massage. Most of them experienced immediate relief and went on to heal sooner than expected.

Many asked that I bottle this and sell it so that they could buy it? At the time, I just didn't feel like it was ready, because again, I was mixing in my hand based on their pain or health issues, so there wasn't a precise formula at the time.

It was not until I hit Forty eight years old, that I realized I had somewhat perfected the formula and began to actually bottle what I call: Nature’s Finest Pain Relief Oil. I went from daily migraines for 98% of my life, to around three a year. I'm thankful for this blessing!
