Roland Martin Gets The Scoop On Today's Legal Outcome Between Byron Allen And Comcast At The Supreme Court
By Kamau Austin
Roland Martin, the highly regarded news commentator, journalist, and host of one of the most popular Black daily news shows online engaged in a spirited interview with media mogul Byron Allen. Byron Allen is one of the largest Black media owners in the US purportedly worth $400 million dollars and many consider him well on his way to being a billionaire with his growing empire of media assets like the Weather Channel.
The Interview streamed yesterday, November, 13th, 2019 and is galvanizing myriad sectors of the Black community like the NAACP, Urban League, members of the CBC, ADOS, FBA, and many others to social action because "Comcast is looking to eviscerate Civil Rights Laws of 1866" according to Byron Allen.
Congressmen Bobby Rush called for the break up of Comcast. Also other pro-black groups like ADOS, FBA, and social media thought leaders like Dr. Boyce Watkins and Dr. Shonna Etienne, encouraged their followers to boycott or pass on seeing the new movie Harriet because it was a Comcast production (among other issues).

Some thought leaders on social media and Youtube feel if the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1866 is eroded it will set the Civil Rights of African Americans possibly back 153-years. In this high interest interview, over his controversial court case in front of the US Supreme Court, Allen shared provocative and crucial status information.
Roland Martin asked some tough questions about Byron's true motivations in bringing his court case to the attention of the US Black community. Some critics of Mr. Allen suggested he was inflaming the passions of Black Americans to push his business aspirations.
Mr. Allen pushed back stating "it wasn't about him but the civil rights of Blacks and other minorities." He likened the lack of business opportunity for Blacks throughout society to systematic racism and even "economic genocide!"
Mr. Allen also gave an update on the court case where he revealed the judges conveyed they wanted the case to move forward and to be presented to them in the court. He revealed the Supreme decided to hear his case which he felt was an encouraging sign.
He also was riveting in revealing new information to strengthen his assertion that Comcast wasn't being fair in allowing Black media ownership on its cable platforms. Mr. Allen even went on to claim "Comcast was setting up Black owned media owners to fail" on its platforms and is looking to "do discovery" in the upcoming legal case in front of the Supreme Court.
