Rana Coleman, Founder & CEO of RSColeman & Associates, LLC, is staying true to her goal of opening doors for African Americans and other ethnic minorities in the legal industry with the launch of the company’s new staffing division.  My initial thought process when I first started this company was to open the door for African Americans with getting into legal positions whether it’s being an attorney, being a legal secretary, a paralegal, a legal assistant, or someone coming fresh out of law school or out of undergrad.

I want to open the door so that we’re more represented because unfortunately, in my experience from the different positions that I’ve held, I don’t see us there. It’s not like we don’t have the credentials, the knowledge, and the passion for the field, we do, but we’re not being represented,” states Coleman, who is originally from Flint, Michigan.

59-YEAR-OLD MOM WHO REVERSED DIABETES AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE LAUNCHES HEALTH & WELLNESS RETREAT FOR BLACK WOMEN

 After an early diagnosis with high blood pressure and diabetes, 59-year-old Jacqueline Glass from Harlem, New York City began her journey toward transformative health. Through diet and exercise, she was able to change her trajectory and reverse her diabetes, eliminate all prescription medication, and ultimately save her life.

This led Jacqueline, an ordained minister, to tell her story and inspire others to embark on a healthier way of life. Jacqueline began holding health and wellness conferences and symposiums that were attended by countless women looking for direction and a path forward to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

As the founder of At the Well Conferences, Inc., for over 13 years, Jacqueline has created special conferences and leadership academies for women and girls of color that have changed their lives. For over eleven years, one of her early prolific endeavors was the prominent At the Well Young Women’s Leadership Academy, a powerful summer enrichment program for exceptional black teen girls at the prestigious Princeton University.

The academy created a special place for girls and women that gave them tools to help improve their lives. To create a safe space during the pandemic, the Leadership Academy went virtual to ensure access for more young women and girls when they needed it most. After 34 years of service with New York State Supreme Court, Jacqueline continued her passion for health and wellness, ensuring that women had the critical support needed to live full lives.

BLACK WOMAN WHO HELPED RAISE $150M TO PRESERVE U.S. HISTORY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN ROME, ITALY

The American Academy in Rome has awarded Monica Rhodes the Adele Chatfield-Taylor Rome Prize in historic preservation and conservation. Rhodes was among 37 Rome Prize winners selected out of nearly 1,000 applicants and is one of few academically trained African American preservationists, with 15 years of experience protecting the nation’s history.

For over 125 years, the American Academy in Rome has awarded the Rome Prize to support innovative and cross-disciplinary work in the arts and humanities. Each year, the prize is awarded to about 30 artists and scholars who represent the highest standard of excellence and who are in the early or middle stages of their careers.

Throughout her career, she has helped raise and manage over $150 million, directed preservation activities in 46 states, and completed projects in over 100 national parks. Rhodes developed the first national program centered on diversifying the preservation trades and the heritage industry. Rhodes led efforts to reinstitute substantial programs in the nation to preserve national parks that tell stories related to African American, LatinX, and Women’s history.

COUPLE LAUNCHES NEWEST BLACK-OWNED MENTAL HEALTH CLINICAL PRACTICE IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE

Ben Roberts, LPC-MHSP, and his wife, Dr. Erica Roberts, EdD, are the owners of Purposed Life, LLC, a Black-owned clinical practice in Gallatin, Tennessee, that addresses the mental, emotional, and social health of individuals and organizations in the Black community through innovative, evidence-based, and culturally relevant methods.  Originally launched as Purposed Life Counseling back in 2017, the goal of this practice was to create a culturally relevant and innovative boutique practice with an emphasis on serving young adults in the Black community who are dealing with anxiety and depression.

Five years later, the company has grown to include clinical practice with expanded service areas as well as new business services: consulting and training. Their ever-growing team of clinicians is passionate about helping Black Americans find their meaning and true purpose in life, which has been the original mission of the practice since the very beginning.

BLACK WOMAN, OWNER OF 14 HEALTHCARE FRANCHISE LOCATIONS, NOMINATED AS FORBES NEXT 1000 HONOREE

Lativah Greene, is the founder and CEO of Compassionate Helpers, one of the fastest-growing Black-owned healthcare franchises in the country. A serial entrepreneur from Detroit, Michigan, Lativah was selected as a 2021 Forbes Next 1000 Honoree.

BLACK WOMAN OWNER OF FLEET OF 6 TRUCKS HOSTS 2022 GLOBAL POWER RETREAT IN STUNNING STYLE

White House-recognized innovator and founder of the Women CEO Project, Kristi Jackson-Muhammad has recently hosted her 6th Power Retreat in stunning style.

The 6-day retreat which began on the 1st and ended on the 6th of June 2022, is part of Kristi’s Global Power Tour project – which involves hosting a 30-city business conference/retreat.

Guests who arrived at this retreat’s location in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico were treated to amazing experiences including a spa day, sumptuous meals from a private chef, excursions, exciting encounters with Mexican culture, as well as group coaching from Kristi herself.
