Get The Scoop On Jasmine Crockett's Response to A Federal Court Order To Reinstate Government Agency Workers

WASHINGTON —  Today, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, Democratic Vice Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after a U.S. District Court judge ordered multiple government agencies (Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Department of Interior, Department of Treasury, and the Department of Veterans Affairs) to immediately re-hire federal employees and workers who were unlawfully fired by Elon Musk and DOGE.

“Today’s decision proves what we have known since day one—that these disgraceful and unjustified mass layoffs of federal employee by Elon and Trump are illegal.  If there is to be any respect for our institutions of government and constitutional separation of powers, then it is imperative that the Elon and Trump immediately act to execute the court’s decision and reinstate all the federal employees whom they unlawfully terminated.”

NY Governor Kathy Hochul Delivers Touching Remarks At Homegoing Services Of Civil Rights Icon Hazel Dukes

Well, thank you, Hazel, for putting me in this order. I thought you liked me and you put me after one of the greatest orators our nation has ever seen, our great secretary, Hillary Clinton. But I come to say this. Praise be to God and thank you for giving us Dr. Hazel Dukes.

What an extraordinary gift. Her life was a gift to all of us. And I knew her over years, but we really deepened our relationship. It was actually a time of great sorrow for me, just a couple of months after I lost my mother to ALS and I'd just become a statewide candidate. And I knew I wanted my mom to see that accomplishment.

I sat down with Hazel. Guess where? Sylvia's. We sat there and ate biscuits all day long – developing a lifelong addiction for me. And I told her about my mom. She wanted to hear her story. And I said, “You know, people don't know this, but my mom and dad started in great poverty. They lived in a trailer park. Dad worked at the steel plant with his own father. My grandpa had started as a migrant farm worker out in South Dakota because they wouldn't hire the Irish.”
