🎭 A Beloved Career in the Spotlight

  • Breakthrough Role: Malcolm‑Jamal Warner (born August 18, 1970 in Jersey City, NJ) skyrocketed to fame as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show (1984–1992), earning an Emmy nomination in 1986. 

  • Versatile Performer: He continued to shine in sitcoms like Malcolm & Eddie (1996–2000) and Reed Between the Lines (2011–2015), as well as dramas including Suits, Major Crimes, The Resident, 9‑1‑1, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, and Community Source People.com

  • Music & Podcasting: Warner was a Grammy-winning musician (2015 Best Traditional R&B Performance) and co‑hosted the podcast Not All Hood (launched May 2024), exploring the multifaceted Black experience Source Wikipedia.


🌊 Tragic Passing in Costa Rica

  • Fatal Accident: At age 54, Warner drowned on July 20, 2025, while swimming during a family vacation in Limón, Costa Rica. He was caught in a strong current, and authorities ruled the cause of death “asphyxia due to drowning” Source: People.com.
