Black Owned Denver Newspaper Launches Empowering Podcast Network to Expand BIPOC Voice in Colorado
Develops Empowering Podcast Platform
Denver Urban Spectrum (DUS) has launched a podcast network to share the voice of BIPOC Coloradoans through critical conversations on social justice, politics, lifestyle, and more. Expanding the Narrative (ETN) Network is being hosted by Britanny Winkfield and can be heard on smartphones, tablets and computers starting at the end of April, as DUS celebrates 36 years of spreading the news about people of color in Colorado and beyond with an award-winning print and digital publication.
Podcasting has become an essential part of the digital media landscape, and ETN is the first network specifically built to showcase BIPOC podcasters in Colorado. “We believe that by joining forces with local podcast creators and providing a platform to amplify these experiences in one place, we can shape how we understand and address systemic issues of race, justice, and equity,” said DUS Associate Publisher, who is also the podcast network manager.
“The vision for ETN is to expand the narrative beyond the pages of this legacy publication and empower emerging and established talent. We want to form legacy partnerships that build generational wealth while allowing each creative to have an equitable stake in their future,” Winkfield added.

For instance if a person feels Black people are being marginalized by white supremacist driven capitalism what are we doing besides critiquing others to offset it? Are we working with Black farmers to supply food to urban food deserts and defund corporate supermarkets?
Are we building community owned credit unions to hold, invest, and loan our money to each other to fight gentrification and predatory loans?

It is as if the media and police don't really value her life. It's as if justice for her has been discarded.
Mary's prophesy in the book of Luke foretold of a savior who would be a change agent or a disrupter, as we would call him today! In this video Kamau Austin, reflects on how God honors women today in society - like the Creator did Mary, a brown skinned woman over 2,000 years ago.
Kamau gives a heart felt appreciation to Black women in this 17 minute video on Resurrection Day 4/9/2023, after Women's History Month below...
