Brooklyn New York -- It had been hearsay and subsequently known selectively in both local and world wide church circles Pastor A.R. Bernard, Founder of Reportedly New York City's largest church Christian Cultural Center (CCC), had fallen ill to the deadly Coronavirus COVID-19.  Insiders for over 2 weeks and streaming in-house videos offered prayers for the infected Pastor Bernard.

A.R. Bernard is a fixture in the urban New York area religious scene.  He is known for his in depth and compassionate interpretation of the Bible and social ministry.

Pastor Bernard, is often highly sought out to counsel area politicians and is also on the boards of important economic development organizations in the NY Tri-state area.  He is both loved and respected by many Christians locally and globally.

So many people were concerned about his health.  In the Resurrection Sunday (AKA Easter) message 4/12/2020, he gave a harrowing account of his battle with the deadly disease.

Video & Article On Pastor A.R. Bernard's Resurrection Sunday Message Continues Below...

In the Resurrection Sunday live virtual service broadcast (at about the 1:03:54 point of the video above) Pastor Bernard talks about his predisposed conditions which made him a higher risk to experience a very adverse reaction to the disease.  He also talked about the isolation he felt and seeing other COVID-19 sufferers succumbing to the disease all around him in his hospital stay.

Bernard also went into detail about how his doctors used some unconventional treatments to help him overcome the disease.  A.R. Bernard was also able to use some of his connections to secure a safer environment for himself from the hospital in his home once he began to recover.

The Brooklyn pastor reflected on the sobering fact that many New Yorkers don't have the financial means to handle the virus the way he responded to the illness.  He spoke in an empathetic way
about the challenges (both health wise and financially) to poorer and working class residents in New York trying to overcome the Coronavirus.

He drew parallels between overcoming the illness and Jesus' resurrection message to helping the "least of these" at times welling up in tears extolling the sacrifice of Christ.  Towards the end of his message, after he explained it was a mystery why some live but others die of the Coronavirus, he focused on seeing God in the good things that come from overcoming the deadly illness.  We hope and pray Pastor Bernard continues to recover and be effective helping others and the community in his ministry.  For more info click here
